How do you get good radio reception in a steel shed?
I guess you folk close to the stations dont have a problem but mine sounds very ordinary and where I stand has an effect on the reception:(

In my shed I have a car radio plugged into a 12v transformer with a car aerial mounted outside
I've got lousy reception in my shed. Portables don't work at all. I've got one of those old record/tape/radio combo things in there now with a length of copper wire attached to the antenna lug. It's just good enough to get ABC so I can listen to the cricket and 2EC so I can listen to old Toto hits :o
Edit: On the more constructive side, I'm planning on heading up to the tip one day soon to see if I can pick up an old TV antenna (kind that goes on the roof) and I'll stick it up on a pole and see if I can get Triple J ;)
being a trained antenna bloke, and a bit of a fanatic about it....
I just stick a few meters of large diameter copper wire in the antenna socket and hang it up.
Usually works pretty well.
With a bit of RG6 to the shed just to make sure it gets there;)Quote:

Easy... I dont have a radio in my shed... I use my old pro-logic receiver that my computer is connected too, yep 300Gb mp3 player with wireless mate!
Just got the wires running off the "B" speakers on the amp too the shed, it powers a few old OEM car speakers(Ford!)that I've jammed into some old CD racks come speaker boxes.
No wonder you guys can not hear the wood talking.

I've got an old clock radio in my shed and have never noticed a problem. Mind you, it's always tuned to the ABC and nobody messes with Auntie :D
