Installing T&G floorboards

Hi Guys,

I'm planning to install 35sq. m of 108x19 Tas Oak floorboards in my extension. I've selected 108x19 Tas Oak to match the rest of the house. The boards will be installed on top of a yellow tongue floor.

I know that you shouldn't secret nail boards wider than 85mm, but would it be OK to secret nail the boards if I also glue them down using a trowel?

Otherwise if I top nail them, then what is the best type of nail gun to use?
