Lighting script.
{eyes hanging out}
Just finished turning 6 pages of hand written notes into a lighting script for a V-day 2006 production of 'The Vagina Monologues' by Eve Ensler.
We had a tech rehearsal last night... 6 & a quarters hours at the theatre... :eek: 3 of it was rigging, focusing & colouring. I must have gone up & down the ladder 327,659 times & up & down the stairs to the lighting booth 290,561 times.:(
I'm working with 20 women & 2 other blokes. (sound techs).
We have another tech rehearsal tomorrow night (now tonight since its after midnight already.)
We have 2 or 3 full dress rehearsals & then we go live 3 & 4 March.
I think I need to get another hobby.... maybe wood turning. :p

HeHe. I know they feeling. I used to theatrical tech work. I think the worst night I had was turning up at a town hall at 3 in the afternoon and walking out at 7 the next morning. We had limited time to setup at a lot of gear, stages, lights and sound systems to install before the sound check that day. Never Again!!!
Hope you have a great time and the performance goes well Cliff!

When I was an apprentice I used to work on the audio at HM theatre in Perth, hell of a lot of set up and some moron would always have a fiddle when you went out for whatever and bugger everything up.
Used to love the first night but it became very boring after seeing the same show another 20 odd times.
I still remember Kismet with all the dancing girls running around, that I didn't get bored with:D
Comedy routines became very unfunny after a few nights but the party after the final performance was something to look forward to.
