Migrated in Oz 6 months ago. I'm looking for nitro-cellulose lacquer. What is the best brand of it in Oz and where can I find it.
If there's one brand thats particularly resistant to cracking over the years I'd be really happy to hear about it.

sure you want to use nitro??
local envro laws are pretty tough on this stuff....
you need to spend a lot to get a proper spray setup...
i have found USL water based pretty nice for guitars
also thinking of using w/based floor varnish
with w/based lacquer you wont get the nieghbours upset or cause yourself to die of cancer in a few years

I tried to find some info for you but it's probably a time that a number of suppliers have closed down for a little while. I known that there are a few suppliers of both solvent and WB lacquers out there. Will try and get some info for you when things normalise again. In the meantime, Wattyl, Mirotone and Akzo Nobel all sell lacquers.

Thank you all guys, I'm really in the market for nitro-cellulose. From the links I've seen Durobond seems to be the right choice for me. I'll have a look where I can get some locally, probably will just ask them through e-mail.
That 851 guitar lacquer thing looks like the one I'll just have to try first :D

Mirotone at wacol should be able to fix you up with some gear.
As long as you can buy in 4 litre containers for the laquer and 1litre containers for the stain (primarys)
you can use the stain to tint the laquer.
