I found this the other day and thought I would post it - shows a field crew uncrating and assembling a 7.5 ton P-47 figher without lifting gear.
I thought it was an interesting example of old school get it done engineering.

Thanks for posting that DH2. Manpower at its best. Nothing wasted either. I bet each crate came with its own tools too.

If they had a workplace health and safety officer from the 21st century there he would have shut them down before they got the lid off the first container. Someone might get hurt doing that :rolleyes:
