Hi folks, I have just joined
Looking forward to reading all your posts and gleaning advice on many topics. I live in Northern Tasmania and have a Record C3 lathe. I love making bowls, dishes, honey dippers out of logs I find. I chopped a large branch off a liquidamber tree recently. It turns really well. I hope it wont split. Proud owner of a traditional Japanese plane just purchased. I think I will like it once I get the hang of pulling it! My last project finished this evening was making a wooden mallet for use with my new plane. Turned it out of liquidamber and filled the head with molten lead from fishing weights.
