Drying times (Vic) and best finish
I have just finished butchering up a chest and need some advice on the finishing please.
It is a recycled hardwood skeleton with 3mm structural ply inserts. I stained the ply with some thin mahogany stain and left it to dry then have applied 2 coats of tung oil to the whole thing. I plan on appling one more coat of oil then allowing it to dry.
How long should I allow it to dry in the current victorial climate ( a balmy 12-16 degrees most days) before the nest step. I believe the average time is at least a week but do you extend if it is colder/hotter etc.
I then am thinking of either applying a coat of EEE (a plug for out most generous board host ;) ) or a coat of mirratone. Any suggestions on which would be better!!
