ipad / samsung for site

I am now back on site full time and are running around all day long and need to beable to take notes, look up drawings, alter spread sheets and have documents signed not sure which pad thing to go for and what apps I need. I am not currently using a "cloud" but might need to be. also 3g vs wifi? I can share net off my iphone would it be cheaper just to add data to my iphone plan than get an other 3G / 4G plan just for pad.
