Window Condensation issue

Hi all,

As it gets colder this winter I'm noticingour bedroom window is developing condensation overnight. The condensation isforming on the inside of the windows rather than the outside and is very heavycovering the entire window pane in a 1.8M * 1.6M window. As the day warms up itpuddles as the base on the window frame.

This concerns me because 3 years ago theroom developed mould on the ceiling and high on the walls. We've just repaintedthe room so I don't want it occurring again, thus looking for ways to eliminateor at least minimize the amount of condensation.

Other factors to consider...
· We'veadded insulation to the ceiling (since the mould occurred 3 years ago) andducted heating which is set to 18 degrees overnight.
· Thewindows are timber, double hung windows around 80years old which I wish topreserve and not have them rot
· The roomfaces south and we are in Melbourne and temperatures are quite coldat night.
· The roomhas wall vents
· Atnight the air in the room feels damp
· Thereare drafts coming in around the window edges

I assume the condensation is formingbecause cold damp air is getting in through gaps in the windows, thus I weather-strippingwould help? Trouble is this is trickier than it sounds for double hungwindows...
