repair to louvre in door

Have some old louvre doors I am painted up. One of the louvres is slightly cracked. It isn't cracked all the way through. Is there anyway I can reinforce it then paint over it? Don't want to go to the trouble of replacing it as I want to sell my place in the new year. But want don't want the louvre to crack through. Any thing I can glue over the crack then paint? Or should I crack it a little more then use wood glue? Or should I just paint over it and hope for the best? Any advice/ideas greatly appreciated.
