I fought the saw and the saw won!
Was checking out the end of the last post for y deck on the table saw.
Guard of due to thickness of timber, momentary lapse of concentration. BINGO!!
Lacerated fingers and thumb on right hand. Chipped bone at base of thumb on top side,
cut both tendons. Two nights in hospital and forearm and wrist in half cast. At least two
months away from any use.
Beware!!!
Not good Artme .... momentary lapse of concentration is all it takes unfortunately and there are not many second chances. With any luck you will heal up and be good as new in a couple of months. Plenty of time to plan the next project.

Not good Arthur hope healing is fast.
Oooh Art, I hate reading stories like this. I had a minor skirmish about six months ago. Not due to carelessness, but poor eyesight. Had to move the offcut which was vibrating towards the blade - it was in the out-of-focus range and i just clipped my thumb on the blade. It gave me the worst hit of adrenalin ever, and i felt physically sick for some hours after.
In the end it was only a minor wound worthy of a bandaid, nothing like what you've done. Wish you a speedy recovery.

Strange how when the guard comes off, someone gets injured. Maybe there is a lesson here.
Absolutrly agree!!. I don't seek sympathy but posted this as a salutary lesson for others who might be inclined to think they are half so clever and invincible!!!Quote:
