Yesterday as we were climbing Pretty Sally with the ute and the camper on the back in third gear at a steady 2,250 rpm, I wondered where you may actually be situated.
I remembered the garage at the top, where the old man filled the canvas water bag there one hot summer day in the early to mid fifties after over heating the Austin A50 and emptying the water bag into the radiator.
There was a water tank on the side or rear of the garage, he refilled it from that, I distinctly remember the old girl asking if he checked for dead animals in the tank.
I knew he hadn't checked anything, he just filled the bag up. It was about this time in life I started to fully understand the value of the phrase, "yes dear!". :U
Today the road is far better and wider, but it is still a long climb, the water temperature gauge in the ute didn't budge, modern vehicles are good.
