Hi all,
Im Jordan, in my twenties and quite passionate about woodworking.
Iv always been around woodworking and furniture making and in recent years I have gotten quite into it myself, some might even say passionate.
In 2007 I started a furniture design course at TAFE but was unable to complete as some health issues took over and it wasn't worth trying to finish my studies, But I'm happy to say that these issues are all but gone, and since then I have completed a degree in multimedia/graphics design only to decide that it wasn't for me and furniture making was.
Earlier this year I was bound for a 6 month trip to Europe, but I cut the trip short after just two months as it wasn't really for me. Instead I thought I would spend the money on something I loved... Woodworking! With my left over cash I build myself a nice little workshop in my garage.
Over the past year I have began upgrading from my good selection of hand power tools to a nice selection of machinery, included in this collection is a hafco 8" jointer, carbatec 10" table saw, hafco 400mm drum sander, hafco band saw, old school drill press, and a cheap ozito thicknesser that I will be upgrading from soon... at least I hope, and more things that I escape me at this time!
As a bit of a side project I started a little website, that will have videos, reviews, write ups on projects im doing and other little things along those lines, if your interested in checking it out the URL is jordswoodshop.com | Wood working video podcast
anyway I look forward to being able to join into discussions on the forums, and starting discussions of my own, If i can find the answer in my searches I will be starting one shortly about the best kind of glue to use in bent lamination.
So thats my g'day
Jordan
