Whitco Mk 11 locks

Hi there,

Has anyone got any tips on how to remove a Whitco Mk 11 lock from an aluminium security door. The lock contains three locks situated at the top middle (door lock) and bottom. I am having difficulty with the handle and wish to replace it but wish to retain the key lock barrel as all my security dorrs are keyed alike. I have been told to use to key to lock the lock whilst door is open and it should remove itself. I am concerned I won't be able to do so as the pins that run to the remaining locks at the top and bottom won't release. I hope someone out there has an answer so I don't have to call in a locksmith.
