G'day from Redland Bay, Qld

Been lurking for a while and signed up a few weeks back but this is the first post.

Foolaround with DIY a bit and am currently in the final stages of redoing a demonstration / display kitchen to replace our 10 yo less than grea kitchen. The project as grown in that we have put in a big new window with side louvers and then decided to cut out most of the stud wall between kitchen & dining room to open the area way out. Also jackhammered up the slate floor in the kitchen to lay a light colour tile rather than the dark slate.

First question is quite simple ( ?) - as we are having the "new" kitchen doors & draw faces repainted ( 2 pack ) I am having to replace the carcase edge trim. The existing trim is in top condition for the most part , so can I just iron the new trim over the old or should I shave the old off first so then applying direct to the chipboard edge ?

Had a look through the archives, but nothing leaps out.:( .Any suggestions appreciated.

HI and welcome to the forum. It is okay to apply the iron on edging to the existing surface but you need to rough up the surface with a coarse sand paper to create a good bonding surface.

Personally I would take it off. But that is my personal thoughts. :o
