Skirting Boards and power sockets

Hi all. Just about to fix traditional federation/victorian skirting boards which are 240mm high. However, what do I do with the existing power sockets? Should I move them above the skirting, mount them on the skirting or cut the skirting around the power socket?

Completely confused! Ta :D
