Fairly new to all of this...!
We are in the process of removing an existing custom vanity bathroom unit. We plan to install a new bench 2110mm in length, 580mm width and cupboard doors.
Im planning to go to Laminex factory in Melbourne with all these dimmensions and get this benchtop cut and buy the doors from here as well.
Is this the way to go...? Are there other options than Laminex....? cheaper...?
What sort of timber would you use for the frame for this type of vanity

work out the cabinets you will need then go to www.armstrongcabninets.com.au then go to the store and pick the cabinets you need and the store will price these for you ,the top is a personal choice but from a manufactures point of view it is better and usually cheaper to go to a postformed top manufacturer and order the top from there.Quote:

I haven't any help but new problem. Not sure where to start as I am new. We have removed the vanity from bathroom. The old one - the top was rounded up at the back where it attached to wall. now that its removed there is a gap we will naturally fill, tiles etc. BUT the new unit - when it fits over the drain its is about 4cm out from actual wall AND have 2cm gap on each side where you can see the existing hole in the wall - bit aware of using timber for the dampness factor. Help! Its the top of the unit gap between the edge at the back and the wall that concerns us 'do we cement the existing actual gap in the wall in around the pipes and start with a flat surface?
