Plasterer pro advice needed

Need some advice from one of our pro's please.

I need to reline a house shortly which is currently lined with Masonite.(yes old house)
I will be stripping out the old wall lining but not the ceiling as the house has an asbestos roof.
I do not want to contaminate the house by removing the masonite ceiling.

So question is, is it going to be ok to gyprock over the masonite ceiling???
