I am in the process of fixing an old (cedar I think) staircase in an old terrace house (1880). I stripped of most of the paint (a few more days to go). I think I spent about 120 hours up till now. Here are some pics of the work in progress: http://picasaweb.google.com.au/koen.ruymaekers/Trap#
I definitely want to stain, as we have stained cedar windows and front door. I also have another staircase recently installed. Unfortunately, that is pine because of the cost of cedar.
How can I achieve a similar look for the pine and the existing staircase? I want to, as much as possible, preserve the look and feel of the cedar.
thanks,
