hey guys, just wondering if anyone could reccommend some decent putty i could use for filling some holes in my old cypress pine floor boards restoration. I've tried some brands from the local Bunnings, but they all seem to shrink or crack too much, or the color is not even close to matching.....i'm just doing a few coats of semi-gloss poly overtop.
- any info would be appreciated, thanks!! and i'm in Sydney.

I make my own putty, simply by sanding the boards and adding clear PVA to the collected dust.
The colour isn't a perfect match but it's close enough for me and if you don't use too much PVA it won't shrink or crack. :)

I mix a small amount at a time, just a coin sized puddle of PVA on an off-cut and add the dust 'til I have the consistency I want.
Larger amounts tend to go off too quickly. It can be a PITA when doing a large area, but no method is perfect.
