Hi all - been lurking for while and recognise a few 'faces' from other boards so I thought I’d better introduce myself. I live in Somerset (UK) in an old house that only stays up ‘cos the woodworm are holding hands. Ex. RN (in another life) now a Retired Museum Conservator with way too many hobbies, a general dabbler, I spends most of my free time turning stuff into things.
Father was a carpenter so I grew up to the smell of fresh cut timber, I have a wood shop (no pics) where I do the odd bit of turning & general wood butchery. Also a metal shop (http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/remark/pages/workshop/workshopdoor.html) for everything else. Some of my stuff can be seen here. (http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/remark/pages/hobbies/hobbies.html)
I've always had an interest in ornamental turning (built a geometric chuck (http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/remark/pages/workshop/projects/geochuck.html) for the fun of it !) current project is to build a rose engine.

Mark
(I'm a biker, live in the UK and ummmmm, oh yes,I remember - I'm old as well
