Dark finish

G'day all,

I am making a baby change table and I want to finish it in a dark chocolate colour with a high gloss finish. I'm after any advice on how to best achieve this finish - stain, varnish?? and where I might find this colour

Dependes on the wood. If using pine or most other conifers the stain does not penetrate well and you would use a tinted laquer.
Look into 'walnut crystals' for a good brown.

Thanks. I'm using pine. I just bought some walnut stain and will finish with a polyurathane. Its not as dark as I would like. Just starting off so I learn as i go:U
