Cutting tiles.

i am about to try and cut out a border tile section on a splashback. Its only 30mm wide and is mount on gyb rock. Any advice on how to remove with minimal damage to the surface beneath. I am planning on cutting the joins with diamond blade and then criss cross cutting the tile tile before trying to remove the peices. Sound good or a disaster?????

Looks like you know what you are doing! Just do the straight cut then try levering the bits out with a large flat blade screwdriver, you may get some damage but it depends on what you intend putting back in it's place. An old Greek Friend of mine once said!
" If you cant get it right, make it look right"

Would go with a much wider blade than a screwdriver and try to get something with a bit of flex. Maybe a stiff paint scraper?
