I live out in lovely Ferntree Gully near the beautiful Dandenong Ranges.
I like to do lots of DIY on my home and I am currently going to attempt to build a deck, well actually I've got someone else coming in to do the sub floor and I'm putting the boards on top and staining them so I guess that's cheating a bit.

I've already seen a post on here about decks that I'm sure is going to assist me greatly.

Wish me lots of luck!

Hi Tarielle, welcome to the house of fun, decks are quite satisfying as you can see a lot when you are finished. They're not something that will be hidden away where you only get "wet suit" satisfaction. What decking are you using??

G'day Tarielle and welcome to the best woodwork site on the web (I reckon). From memory there are quite a few threads mentioning deck construction and finishiing here - You should get some help, if you want it.

G'day Claw,

I'm going for treated pine 90x22.
I do have some questions re the best way to stain, might have to open a new topic on here. I'm very new so am still finding my feet on this site.

There has been some discussion in the forums here on decks. Check the Renovating Forums.
