Hi Everyone

Wow, what a diverse forum you have here. Something for everyone.

I like to get a good old knarled burl and assist it's shape a little, melt in some beeswax and Volia, a good present for a relo. Nature like that was not meant to be highly polished, let the wood be itself !

For the milled timbers I like teak, that is from the boats that I have worked on (for pleasure, pain and not for profit). Such druable stuff in a marine environment, just let it go a little grey and it protects itself. On the inside fitout, a little oil or satin varnish wiped off so the timber is not plastic coated, but the golden glow is preserved.

Ciao

Hi,
I hope all my clients would agree to what you say. I know all these coatings are plasticky. But teak in India is soooo expensive, people pass on teak furniture as heirlooms and therefore want it to be preserved in all its glory forever.
welcome and happy times
