Hi Everyone
Wow, what a diverse forum you have here. Something for everyone.
I like to get a good old knarled burl and assist it's shape a little, melt in some beeswax and Volia, a good present for a relo. Nature like that was not meant to be highly polished, let the wood be itself !
For the milled timbers I like teak, that is from the boats that I have worked on (for pleasure, pain and not for profit). Such druable stuff in a marine environment, just let it go a little grey and it protects itself. On the inside fitout, a little oil or satin varnish wiped off so the timber is not plastic coated, but the golden glow is preserved.
Ciao
