G'day (6 point Times New Roman seems BIG here) don't be fooled by my log on name my name is Ray and I live in Brisbane.

I am retired and it has been quite a while since I spent any serious time 'on the tools' but my good lady is trying to recapture parts of her (possibly mis-spent) youth.

She is a keen patchworker and quilter and has an extensive collections of expensive computerised sewing machines. Now she wants a small (I hope) collection of Singer treadle sewing machines similar to those she learned to sew on.

She has a tame sewing machine mechanic / technician for the machines themselves but restoration of the cast iron frames and the timberwork is my responsibility.

I found this forum while I was looking for suppliers of suitable veneers as the timber work on some (most) of the machines we have looked at so far is a bit sad. Some I am fairly sure I can salvage but some of the more reasonably priced machines would need new veneer (or more).

Thats about enough from me for now - I will learn about this forum as I go along and any suggestions from experienced members will be well received.

Ray
