View Full Version : Reputation Points

I know it's all meant to be a bit of fun but I've decided to use these new reputation points constructively, so here's how I've decided to award mine:

If I post a question and someone provides a good answer, rather than posting a thank you to show my appreciation, I approve their post and put "Thanks" in the comment.

If a post makes me laugh out loud, I approve it.

If a post gives good advice, constructive criticism, or encouragement, I approve it.

I haven't disapproved one yet but I would do that if I thought the poster was being impolite, derogatory, or just plain rude - unless of course it was tongue-in-cheek. I'd probably also disapprove one if it was giving what I thought was bad or dangerous advice. I'm not going to disapprove one because I don't agree with something someone says. Or because I don't like an analogy they used ;)

I know some people will take the p1ss and treat it like a bit of a joke. Fair enough but this is how I'm going to do it, just so that you know. So if you post an answer to one of my questions and I don't post a thanks, check your reputation points.

SilentC,

Sounds like a very sensible approach, unfortunately I couldn't give you a reputation point because I must have given you one recently and have to spread them around a bit before I can give you another one so keep up the good responses.

Alright, alright, lighten up Silent. :D
Weve been told, and you can only deduct 1 caterpilla bit. :D

What about if I eat all my tea, peas and carrots included?

That's the only flaw in my plan. It just means I have to go and find some more good ones to approve of

Unless we can work out those big red ones

BTW I'm not taking it too seriously. I only posted this 'cause I feel guilty if I don't say thanks to people and I wanted 'em to know what I was doing.... :)

I have noticed that since the reputation points have come on line, there haven't been any nasty posts. Heaps of people are being very polite and sensitive.

I think they have been a positive change for this reason. It doesn't really matter how many points we receive or lose but if they improve the BB by removing the nasty or unhelpful posts then I support them.

Eastie,

If we can get Ozwinner and SilentC to spiral into all out war with each other, they will lose their reputation points. It looks like the two brutes are starting to spar already - they are cracking under the pressure.

Wood Borer,

Now that just sounds nasty, devious and mean spirited. To imagine that I would be part of such a thing against two bright, talented and mature fellows is slanderous.

(PS - PM me stage two of the monkey and chicken overthrow plan:cool: )

I'm sorry Eastie, but you have used your quota of 'burst out laughing' reputation points for today :p

I wouldnt do that to Silent, but Zed!!!!!!!!!!!
Remeber this Zed, "Zed - sorry dude, comparing to Mj is a BADDDD thing!! :-)"
Result, one red caterpilla bit.
Hahhhaaaaaaaaaaaaa ( in my most evil laugh ).

PM to Eastie.

What we can do is somehow give one of them a reputation as a spelling bee champion and the other as a ****** knocker and then let both their reputations sink lower than a snake's belly.

If they smell a rat, we can sow a seed of doubt into their minds so they blame each other.
