Rarely does it happen to me, a 'real' bargain. Yesterday I saw an upright leaf vacuum discounted down to $33.00 and took it to the check-out. There were raised eyebrows and a manager called when it scanned at 50c but in the end the verdict was that "the scanned price cannot be overridden."

(And yes, it works! :U)

Two months ago the same store had 2000W 35cm Talon Chainsaws that scanned at $10.00 each and being a greedy bastard, I bought three!

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Same thing happened to me when buying a lamp. Was $126 on sale at $90, but scanned for $20. I went and got another :D

Bought roller blades that were $45 for $2 last year, but didn't get another pair. I alerted them to it, but the scanned price is what you pay, unless it's high.

A very elderly lady in front of me at a supermarket market one day, would not move until she had checked her receipt.

"Ten dollars for a loat of bread", She asked the checkout operater?

Yes, the manager was called to sort it out.

It works both ways, more often their way though metinks.
