After a quiet morning with MBGitW, I went out into the shed intending to turn a couple of platters and a bowl. Well after getting a pleasing shape to the outside of the bowl I put a recess for my 25mm bowl jaws and rechucked the piece. Turned it on and started to the bowl part, had a bit of a dig in and a IFO (Identified Flying Object:U) resulted. Wacked it back on the face plate and cleaned it up, then thought, stuff it I'll have a go at the platter. This blank was about 300mm glued to a sacrificial about 150mm. Wacked in the screws and put it on the lathe. Slower speed about 300rpm, got it round then started shaping the perimeter, then another dig in and another IFO.
After retrieving the blank, which decided to part ways with the sacrificial disc, I though bugger you Murphy, I am going to clean my shed abit with the help of Mr Tooheys Black:drink2::drink2: Two beers over two hours cleaning. I had more after finishing the cleaning.:U
For our non Irish origin members, it's Murphy as in Murphy's Law - Anything that could go wrong, does:doh:
