The Acme Field Days Were Interesting
Had the new sawmill at the Acme Field Days for the last 3 days.
It's so long since I've had a market stall it was an interesting experience.
And I had a good chinwag with a few bright people which was great.
I suppose you could say the sawmill came equal second in the innovations competition. All of us in equal second place were beaten by a gate hinge.
It's quite surprising just how many people are not computer literate, even in the younger age groups. So I think instead of doing the sawmill plans on a CD I might do them as printed plans instead.
I won't bother with little shows in future, the organisation of this event was total crap, which is probably why it's still small despite having been going for 20 odd years.
Fortunately there were 3 big boys toy shops there so I got some more tools.:D
While sitting down relaxing I thought of a major improvement to the mill,
So this afternoon I'll do that minor job then I'll cut some big logs up later this week and make movies of it.
I think I'll combine the movies with a slide show and stick it on my website and youtube.
Anyway I think it might be worthwhile writing a couple of magazine articles on the mill. I'd aim at aussie & USA mags.
Any suggestions on writing, preparing & presenting magazine articles? :)
