Hi-
im in year 12 and doing a Design and Technology Major Work this year. for this i am making a plasma/LCD tv unit that will include a water feat8ure in it just for kicks. the backing and some componants of this cabinet will be made out of the laminated MDF (Proberbly High Moisture Resistant as it will be near water). i am just after advise on types of products to use to paint the MDF. the type of finish i am looking for will be a solid cour and similar to the new stylish wall panels where it doubles as a feature by the bright colour. similar to http://www.trendir.com/archives/mdf-italia-lcd-plasma-tv-panel.jpg any information or ideas would be extremely appreciated

thanks heaps for your tim

Polyurethane, but I'd give the MDF a good sealing with epoxy resin first (think araldite, but stronger and much cheaper, and you can use it as the laminating glue too) - both from a boat shop. Check the boatbuilding threads for more detail.
