Finish on Table Legs

Hi Everyone,

I am getting closer to finishing my table restoration project. I have purchased some "hard shellac" for the table top - both for protection and look.

Does anyone have an opinion on the finish I should use for the legs. Should I do the same as the top, or perhaps an oil / wax finish?

I am currently restoring a few coffee tables as part of a course on furniture restoration. I am french polishing both the tops and the legs as part of the course. So I suggest do them the same as it will look better.
