G'day.

Just saying hello and looking forwards to making some new and interestng contacts and hopefully learning bucket loads from you all.

I am a wannabe woodworker who has nothing but a crappy set of Bunnings chisels and some great but very worn [need repair] tools given to me by my wifes father .... maybe he saw something in me .... never know.

Any way I am interested in a number of things but I have found a slight and I think strange passion for making wooden spoons. Is this weird or am I amongst freins of a similar ilk??

cheers.

Spanner

You never know you may end up the official wooden supplier to the major sporting leagues. In years to come the honour of getting one of your finely crafted spoons may make it a little less of a bitter result.

When you've got the idea of spoons making, you might like to try your hand at Welsh Love Spoons - They take a bit of carving but sell well to collectors over here.

Originally quite simply carved, nowadays they can be very ornate (and correspondingly expensive).

Have a look at http://www.welsh-lovespoons.co.uk/
