can i use polyester resin as a finish. like a 2 pot varnish.
i have 20 l of polyester resin sitting here doing nothing and need to find a use for it.

you could coat something with it depends what it is.
Useless on something outside in the sun will only last a few months.
could waterproof or seal something inside depends what you have in mind.

I once patched a canoe with polyester resin and used the rest of the pot to cover the wooden seats. It was sticky for months think it's like a nuclear reaction you need a critical mass to allow the chain reaction to proceed.

1 pen blank = 50ml, 20L PR = 400 pen blanks:D

'Unwaxed' pr will stay sticky to the touch, it is used for laminating purposes.
'Waxed' pr will dry hard to the touch, called 'fillercoat', for top-coating laminates and sanding back to the required level of finish.
Some pr has uv inhibitors, eg that used in the surfboard industry.
Make sure you get the resin/hardener ratio spot on, and mix very thoroughly!

this was the slow drying stuff cant remember if it is was waxed or unwaxed.
we got it to do our boat and were sold way to mutch.
