Hi All,
I love all the advice I've received from this forum so far!!!
I installed one of the window type air con units in a window at home. The window was larger than the unit so I built 2 timber frames (1 inside and 1 outside) to fix it to. All seemed OK but I noticed last night that in the corners of the inside frame the paint is cracked indicating some movement. I suspect that the workout the unit has had over the last couple of days (and nights!) has precipitated the cracking. The unit still seems pretty solid in the frame but is not supported at the 'back' of the unit where it hangs outside. My question is; could I use something like metal strapping suspended from the eaves/fascia and fixed to the unit frame at the back to provide extra support as a support from underneath would be difficult to contruct and fit due to the brick window sill?
Thanks and cheerio,
Mark CH
