Hello Folks;
Being new here I hope I get this right. It seems each forum has a different way of doing things and I'm great at not getting it right. Anyway, I from a small place in central Ontario, Canada called Minden. Population year round is about 5000 but swells to 50000 in the summer. I' a retired teacher with 35 years of experience and one of the pleasures of my job was to spend a a magnificient year teaching just outside of Canberra, back in '89. The family still talks about it. Hope to return in the near future. I have built a super wood shop in the garage and do my work there. I started turning by beginning with pens, which is nice past time in the evenings when I'm not modellinf lead solders or building model airplanes for my son to fly.:D
Have a Grand Australia Day! you Aussies.

Welcome Nic. Twenty years is a long time to reminisce - better to make the 'near future' nearer rather than later. Australia, as a whole, has changed a lot in those years.

hey Masoth:
Thanks for the welcome. Yes I agree with you about looking forward. We've managed to keep up with many changes down-under through lifelong friends. Things never stay the same and life as a whole must move forward whether we want it or not.

Hi Nick,
Welcome to the place that has most of the answers to things made of wood. A good bunch of people willing to give advice and a hand.

G'day Nic and welcome to the woodies version of heaven.:2tsup::2tsup::2tsup:

Things are pretty informal here so don't get too worried. If you step out of line , the resident axe wielding mongrel,will take a swing.:D:D:D

Welcome aboard, Nicholai.

I've also learned the right way to do a few things, and the wrong way to do almost everything else. The only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask. We have plenty of stupid answers.:D

Cheers,
Joe
