I have just heard from Sue that my very good friend, Ray (Wheelinround), has had a heart attack and is in hospital and not very well. I have no further information other than that at this stage but I am sure we all wish Ray a very speedy recovery and our thoughts and prayers are with him and his lovely wife, Sue.
Get well soon mate. It is my pleasure to know Ray on a personal basis and believe me, he is one of a kind.

I have just spoken to Sue on the phone this morning and as yet she has no further news of his condition. She is going to visit him again this morning and will probably be at the hospital on and off all day but she told me to ring her tonight and we should have some more details.

Ray,
My sincerest best wishes to you and your "Trouble".
I give the same advice to all who have these problems, based on many years observing animals:
Find a nice sheltered spot, away from everyone, curl up, and sleep it off.
Works for animals, every time.
Good luck.

I have just spoken to Sue and she tells me that Ray is improving but very tired at the moment and he is having moments of ups and moments of downs. The doctors reckon they have caught it in time and everything has gone well as can be expected.
His son was with him this afternoon and Ray is worn out at the moment and needs a lot of rest. Apparently it all started with pains in his back and he thought it was from lifting his band saw around the day before.
Sue said that he had severe pains shortly after he finished chatting to me on Skype, which we do regularly, so it was not a very good finish to his birthday.
Sue reckons he's got to do something spectacular next birthday to beat this one.
she said to thank you all for your kind words and good wishes.

I just received a phone call from Ray from the hospital and he sounds very good considering when he has been through. He sounded very tired but asked me to thank all of you for your messages and thoughts. He is very touched by everyones concern.
He still has a way to go but he is on the right track. He has been very stressed out these last few weeks and things have been getting on top of him.
I am sure Ray will tell us all about it when he is able to. Let's hope he continues to improve in leaps and bounds.

Munruben ,
Thanks for the forum post regarding Ray's condition .
I have been wondering about him .
I recieved an e-mail last night from Sue saying not to send e-mails to him as he is unavailable.
I guess Sue didn't have time to explain and expected I would hear about it soon enough .I fully understand her actions. There is no time to gin around in those circumstances.
Been through the same experience twice .
I just hope he has good care and gets well soon .
Kev.
Edit .
Well,,, I didn't read all of the posts . Glad to hear he is in good hands and that the damage is minimal .
We have become good internet friends and I would surely miss his daily jokes and e-mails.Can't wait until he's back on deck.

Spoke to Ray this morning and his condition has been downgraded to a less serious level. He had an uncomfortable night though unfortunately but this was due to other problems and not his heart. He has been up and out of bed a couple of times and he seems a bit brighter but still sounded exhausted. He has had some small amounts of food because if he eats too much it causes him to have pain inside his tummy.
Doctors have not said how long he will be in hospital but Ray is not expecting to be released this side of the long weekend which doesn't surprise me.
He has family visitors with him this morning and is expecting a friend to come over to see him later, so he is not short of company. Sue is having a break from the hospital for today.
I will be in touch with Ray again in a couple of days or so. I still think he needs a lot of rest but Ray is much too polite to complain about being bothered by my phone calls.

Was on the phone to Ray tonight and He said he was feeling better and has been out of bed today and in a wheelchair for a short time. He still has problems in the tummy from the bleeding that occurred but he has been eating a little but can't eat very much at the moment for fear of too much pressure on his vital organs.
He said that he feels up one moment and down the next. He is waiting to see the doctor probably tomorrow to find out exactly what is going to happen in the next few days.
Doctors reckon that when he has healed fully, he should be as good as he was before he had the attack.
He has had a few visitors so he is not bored but he did sound tired. He said he misses Sue's cooking and the food in the hospital is typical hospital food. (Ray loves his food)
Wongo and Pat, if you are reading this, Ray said to tell you to "leave his timber alone you mongrels".:)
I will contact Ray again in a couple of days to see if there is any news as to when he may be released out of hospital.
He said to tell you all that he is feeling ok but expects it to take a while before he is firing on all cylinders.
Will keep you posted guys and gals if any further developments or news comes to hand. Ray is very appreciative of your concern and thanks you once again for all your good wishes.

Just spoke to Ray and he said the doctor told him this morning that he will be coming out of hospital either tomorrow or the weekend. Ray sounded very tired after having a sleepless night. He was a bit down today, not his usual cheery self but thats understandable. His fever has now gone completely but still has a bit of a problem to overcome but I will leave that for Ray to divulge if he so desires.
Overall, he is doing well. Ray always is a gentleman, even in times like this, he has always had time to talk to me and remain polite and friendly when I know for sure that he must have been feeling awful. Ray I salute you mate. you are, as I said in my first post. One of a kind. We look forward to having you back on here as soon as you are able.
