I just finished year 12 (08') and completed my major work in Industrial Technology Timber (aka woodwork). I designed and build a corner cabinet out of European Beech. turned out very well for my first project doing woodwork 88%
Now I’m planning on doing a new project but have no idea how to design it. I want to build a Work bench for the garage but not sure what kind of timber and how big it should be, all I know is that I want it to look good and be solid so when I use my tools on it it doesn’t bloody move.

Can anyone help with some ideas of timber types and sizes?? I originally thought of building it out of timber sleepers but thought that that’s a bit extreme. So any help is very welcome.

Cheers
Chris

G'day Hummer and welcome to the nuthouse.:2tsup::2tsup::2tsup:

Glad to see you did so well in Yr 12. As far as benches go, I suggest you have a look through the Big Stuff and The WIPs. plenty of great benches to be found.:):)
