Hello to All. I found this site through a link on a pen turning web site. I am glad for the good fortune.
My name is Steve and have been a casual woodworker for the better part of 30 years. I have made some furniture and discovered the lathe two years ago. In the winter, I do small bowls and pens in the basement. In the summer, it's out in the barn for bigger stuff.
I look forward to exploring this site.
Thanks,
Steve

Welcome Steve:2tsup:
Since this is an Aussie site, first thing you'll learn that your barn (workshop) is called a shed!:o:U

Day Steve,
And a big welcome. Don't worry too much about what Ed said. Most of us can translate Seppo Speak because we hear it quite often.:D We have different viewpoints about everything on this site just as we have people from all over the world putting their work and advice here. Aussies tend to be fairly direct in discussion and not politically correct at times. WYSIWYG.

Steve, welcome to the show.
Ed called it a shed or a barn, there are more not so understandable terms to descriped this subject. For the good order we call it a ''schuur''.
Basement worked too.
Have fun.
