Hello all, as you are reading this, you will have figured out that I am a new member.

Been living in Tassie about 10 years now and have 3 daughters - one is 7, one is 5 and one is n'a half - that's her screaming right now.

I am an inexperienced wood worker - never even did woodwork at high school (was that legal?), something that I regret these days - but knowledge and skills are improving slowly, as more projects get stuffed up.

Most things I attempt are pretty simple, next one in line is a cubby house for the girls, which is how I came to find this sight. I laid my hands on 15 pinewood pallets used to transport commercial oven the other day, and right now I am taking a break from the laborious task of taking them apart and removing all of the nails.:oo: At least it's free wood.

Hopefully, you will see more of me here.

Cheers, Slarti.

G'day Slarti and welcome to our rather large cubby house.:2tsup::2tsup::2tsup:

You have started well, scrounging is part of the game.

Hi Slarti, welcome.
When my kids were young I did the same, made lots of things for them.
Now they all live on there own, I have the time for woodturning, and still I make a lot of stuff for them. :D

Hi Slarti. A cubby is in line for making at out place to. I think cubbies should only be made out of scrounged wood.:2tsup:

Great starting point and wonderful to see the look of kids faces when something special is made for them. Welcome aboard Slarti
