basicly i live with my dad and younger brother there are just the 3 of us blokes here and it seams to work out well but i never thought anything about it.

that was until today while washing some chainsaw parts in the kitchen sink it suddenly occurred to me that most blokes would get a beating for doing what i was doing.

That started me thinking the veranda that sits outside the kitchen/dining/living room in clear view all day and to all visitors. is covered in half fixed chainsaws, fishing gear, tractor parts, bits of wood and god knows what else. we use it as a workshop:2tsup:. many visitors wile sitting on our veranda/wokshop make comments the men its always something like 'i wish i could do this' and the women "how can you live with this junk everyware"

to us its not junk its all good stuff that we will use.:2tsup:

Nothing changes when you get married. Just that the chain saw, bike, tools and other stuff gets replaced by sewing ,ironing etc etc.

If you can learn to sit and study a basket of ironing I guess that's okay:D

Yeah you are lucky Carl. :2tsup:

HWMNBO and I both have car parts and tree branches/small logs in our patio area at the back of the house :D The ironing is tucked away where I do not have to look at the growing pile :B

Ironing? Since I do all the clothes shopping, I do not buy anything that needs ironing.

Sounds like my place Weisy.

I'd worry about those valueable things out the front in plain view though. I often worry about the timber I have out the front.

When I read this I waa just plain disgusted! I mean to say, who could live like that????
Chainsaws parts in the sink? EWWWW! It would put oily crud all over the crayfish I cleaning and cooking and bugger up the paint on the bike parts drying on the draining board!
Carparts on the back verandah/deck, how untidy. I keep mine in the spare bedroom with the bike, the welding gear and the chainsaw.

It certainly sounds like you are living the dream, though I did have my fun as a younger (single) person, I just had one rule, keep the motorbike engine rebuild parts in the lounge room away from the timber projects in the kitchen as old sump oil does nothing for a timber finish...

These days being married with children I smile at those days, but some habits are hard to break - now I have a CNC wood router in my carport...MWAHAHAHA !

Cheers.

I suggest you try to keep at least ONE room reasonably tidy, or with clutter in separated neat piles. Two reasons: (a) to avoid chasing the ladies away, and (b) to be able to find stuff you KNOW is around there someplace.

In my early years, a neighbour had a house utterly crammed with stuff. I wondered how they could live like that. Now I know - sort of.:-
