Hi all
I bought a leaf blower/vac from Bunnies today, on special for under $60.
For $60 you cant expect much, or can you?
Ok, get it home and plug this baby in, it states on the pack that it can blow at 180kms per hour, ...cool.......!!
Only one little tiny weeny itsy bitsy problem, the freek'n thing dont work, straight from the pack, I didnt even assemble it, I wanted to see the inside of my shed in a 180 kms gale, this will look good, all me tools wizzing around at 180 kms, but noooo, nothing, zilch.
Then I look inside the box and see that it is made by GMC, a cheap version of GMC, can you beleive it?
I thought you couldnt get any cheaper than GMC?

So on monday back to Bunnies you go, bye , bye.
Hasta lavista, you non mother sucker.
I dont think I'll be getting too much GMC cr@p in the future.

Al,

A lot of leaf blowers and garden vacs have a micro switch that prevents the thing from starting unless the attachments are in place. You mention you did not assemble it, so perhaps that is the problem.

I did look for switches but I couldnt see any, I'll have another look tomorrow..
It was only the snorkel that was not on it.

If its that "performance" brand model for $59.90 at Bunnies... I have had one for a few months. Used it about a dozen times and no problems so far. If it gets me another 2 dozen uses then it would have lasted 2 years at least :) :) :)

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

If it is the one where you change the operating mode (blower / vac) by sliding the bag attachment/handle, then try moving it from one end to the other a few times.

I have a similar one (yellow), similar problem. It worked after a few kicks.

Steady on Kenmil you cant have that sort of thing getting in the way of a good whinge :D
Unfortuantely occasionally you will get cheaper stuff (if it was junk why buy it?) that wont work straight out of the box thats why replacement warranty's are so good.
If I have a oneoff job to do I will buy the cheap version if its available and if it works beyond that job its a bonus better than having expensive makita stuff sitting in its case after 2 uses.
