Hi to All,

Just joined the forum. Retired for a few years now. Not new to woodworking, on and off doing musical instrument repair for over forty years.

The festive season is here and was asked what would I like. Not complaining, it is a problem I like to have! Not sure what I would like to be honest. There are so many things I would like to have, even though my wife thinks I have at least one of every tool, gadget there is!!! Yes, I do have a few, but one can never have enough or all!!! Dream on!

Back to topic, I am thinking learning about wood turning. I am searching the net for a few days now. There is a lot of info out there, but it is hard to figure out what is relevant and in some case what is correct/factual. Just like grinding/shapening/honing. There are as many opinions or views as many woodworkers out there or just about!

Found the forum while trying to get info on what lathe to get. (I checked the sharpening forum, just to see. Lots of good stuff and lots of opinions. I have a few myself!:D) I liked the forum, so I joined up.

Hi Andy, welcome.
A lot of woodturners here in this forum, so don't hesitate to ask for help.
You are on the right place.
Have fun.

Ed, Hughie,

Actually I was thinking of a Vicmarc. The VL100 without the motor. However, I have some issues. I started a new thread on the general woodturning forum. Please see there.
