How do Pro-Renderers get the stuff onto the wall?

Hello Again... Sort-of related to my previous Thread about whether to use a flat steel Trowel, or a steel Float with slightly curved-up edges, to "close up" the surfaces of some Rendering and Concreting that I have to do, is the parallel question of how do the Pro-Renderers get their mix off their Hawks and on to the wall?...:? I'm pretty certain that they usually use just flat steel Trowels, so are they just holding their Hawks right up beside the wall, and then just pushing the Render...
