Thought I'd take a shot at that one! :)
It sounds so weird speaking "Aussie" as a New Englander living in the south. I can't even say "Y'all yet.
So hello everyone. I'm Fred, now living in Concord, North Carolina, USA. I'm a high school woodworking and carpentry teacher.
I'm looking for new and exciting project ideas for my kids in school. If you've got anything different, I'd love to hear. Aside from that, I'm looking forward to being here and hearing from "Y'all".

Welcome Fred....the "ya'll" thing will become second nature in no time at all:doh:

LOML & I moved to the Florida Panhandle in 80 and it didn't take long at all to pick up the local lingo.

Hey, you want a surfire way to get your kids to succeed at life? Teach them woodturning, they'll get addicted to it and will want to buy all the goodies that go with the addiction, so they will study hard, get good grades, then good jobs and be able to afford the big bucks lathes and tools ...a win/win situation!:2tsup:

Well hay-ah fred , welcome ot the forum , how old are the students and how involved a project are you intrestered in , for example what are they making now
One thing a local school here made was a wooden plane and box to house it , including cutting and hardening the blade , though we tend to teach industerial arts not just wood work , any way give us some pictures of their present projects and i'm sure some good thoughts will come your way

G'day Fred. I'm just down the road from you in Greenville. Might be a bit much taking on "Southern" as a second language and now "Ozzie" as a third one.

Here's a tip: Grow a thick skin and keep in mind that Seppo is not always a term of endearment.:D:D

But sometimes it is.

Welcome aboard, Fred. Have yourself a high old time here. Also, learn Ozzie slang as a fourth language.
