The last week has been fairly hectic round here, with some late hours going in to stay on schedule.

Hardest job was cleaning the slate, 70sqm took 12 hours on my knees with a scraper and hydrochloric acid. A few other areas are not shown, two cupboards, a walk-in pantry and the entryway.

Another week and I can put the kitchen in, then trim and paint.

Its come up real nice hasn't it.:2tsup: Our house has a slate floor in the living areas. I try not to look down though as I think it needs resealing.:C

I was glad to see the carpet go, dusty stuff and too much of it. It took a lot of hard yakka but I think it was worth it. I'll be more convinced when my back is working again :U

That's a heck of a lot of slate! Did your knee cushions get bigger and thicker as the day went on?

Looks fantastic Greg!:2tsup: Hope your back eases very soon.

cheers

Well I'd say the brownie point account is just about full.

So which new plane have you picked out.

Great job Groggy:2tsup: nice straight grout lines, what do you charge a metre?:D

I feel your pain Groggy. I've spent many back breaking hours cleaning slate.
The floors have come up real nice. All that hard work is definately worth it. :2tsup:

regardsOkay, okay. I'll just get the kitchen in, then paint the house, then I'll be back at the bench :( .

PS. I wasn't completely happy with the finish so I put a third coat of sealer on tonight. Now I am done .

Gotta love that stone look .
Very nice,,,the missus has been onto me about slate for a couple of years ,we have vinyl tiles a the moment and they are a major PIA ,probably a bigger PIA to remove but once it's done it will be much better.
I agree carpet is too hot and dusty especially in the tropics.
