Hi,

I know there's been other discussions on air compressors before (at least in the powered tools section), but I just wanted to ask the same question my own way

I build kayaks and canoes, and wanted to get a compresor so I can spray on varnish and marine enamel, instead of trying to get a similar finish with brushes.

So, the question is: are the Supacheap/GMC/etc $99-149 air compressors suitable for spraying "continuously" long enough to finish asmall boat? Do they have holding tanks/pressure capacity to spray for probably 15 - 20 minutes at a time (at most probably)?

I believe some of the cheaper ones are more suited to nail guns, tyre inflation, etc, but I wanted to ensure they met my needs or if I needed to look in the next price bracket up.

Any brand / setup / capacity / pressure recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Darren

To put it simply no, they have the pressure but not the capacity. Best off taking the plunge and buying a real compressor, they can be had under $500 for a reasonable 2~3hp(50ltr tank)unit now days.
