bastard
1. bad thing or situation
Examples include: "It's a bastard" - It's a bad thing; "Give me a hand, I can't get a hold of the bastard" - "Give me a hand, I can't get hold of the thing/animal/person.
2. bad person
3.
See poor bastard (http://ducktionary.blogspot.com/2006/01/p.html#poorbastard).
I would add to the above definition that it is perfectly acceptable to call a good mate 'an absolute bastard', and that is a term of endearment. However, if you call someone 'a bit of a bastard', it usually means that you don't like them much and don't think very highly of them...

Good, but kinda thin on derivations. And it's missing "Oz" and "seppo" it seems. I've long suggested that 'Murrican newbies bookmark an Australian slang dictionary.

One of the definitions is:
Liberal party
Republican party.
Why do they call themselves Liberal if they're not liberal? They're politicians, they lie.
Good point. I wondered about the depth of the author's political knowledge.
Then I got to:
MP
Minister of Parliment
