I'm have a problem with the forum tonight, all the posts are now displaying as per the screenshot attached. They all initially display as very large posts, with lots of empty space. If I wait a couple of minutes, all those little boxes start to appear down the left side of each post.
Anyone else having an issue.

IE7. Everything seems to be changing by the minute. It all looks okay now, but a few minutes ago I couldn't even reply as the 'Reply' button had disappeared.

Think it's more than likely a server problem. I think we're still being backed up every hour or so in the wake if Hurricane Ike, so it's possible it's something to do with that.
Happened once before and I think it was something to do with slow server response to loading pics. :hmm: Working on it.
Lets know if it continues or anyone else has the same or similar problems.
Cheers - Neil :dunno:

Neil, as far as I'm concerned it's not the end of the world........don't go losing sleep over it.

More likely not a server problem. Don't schedule a major overhaul until necessary. I haven't seen that particular problem here, but on several other sites, via Firefox, the activity line shows "Done" for a while, then puts up more stuff, says "Done" again, puts up more stuff, etc. etc. I suspect the problem is associated with crowded traffic on the entire weird wild web, especially with dodgy connections such as mine.
Trying different times of day might help to resolve it. According to my very imperfect understanding, each mouse click or keystroke can be sent and received as separate messages via different routes each time. That's just how the internet seems to work, or is supposed to.
{The blather about "xxxx has a brilliant future" is built in to keywords for the site somehow. Trying Google [woodworkforums ANYUSERNAME] with an actual User Name, gets that as part of the hit list.}

OK it's a server problem. Cyanide is down the Coldfusion server is knackered and the site is broken. What was seen here was most likely due to rebooting the Sydney server which has most of the forum graphics on it this has been done a couple of times coinciding roughly with the time of the reports.
This won't be a major problem and shouldn't happen again till tomorrow when the server is rebuilt and rebooted again.
Anyone logging on with may experience the same problem especially if they're on dial up or slow adsl as the pics will be very slow to reload if at all until the reboot is done tomorrow. Cached stuff should be fine so don't log out and there shouldn't be a problem.
I think.
Cheers - Neil :)
