View Full Version : wwf - NEW DEFAULT SKIN

The new default skin, titled wwf will go on sometime tonight.

This one has been redesigned from the floor up and is in darker colours for those who have problems with the brighter backgrounds of the others.

If you don't like it please don't complain. Go pick another from the selection in the skins dropdown - left side of the bottom Navigation bar on all screens.

For those who are having problems with colour the background is maroon. If not then please adjust your monitor colours till it is. This will also bring out the true colours for the rest of the pages as well.

Cheers - Neil :U

Hi Neil,

Wow, finishing up after a late night, certainly woke me up!.

BTW, why not change the favicon.ico to something more in tune with woodworking?

Regards
Ray

Neil,
Love it - you do good work.
Good on ya!
Adam

PS. Ran into an old video tape of yours on basic spindle turning - watched it several times already - it's good value.

Dear Neil,

It definitely seems kinder on the eyes after you've been at the keyboard for a while. The beige filling just somehow seems to irritate the eyes less than the old stark white.

Best Wishes,
Batpig.

Hi Neil,

Should you want a custom favicon, that "sort of" looks like the ubeaut logo, there aren's really many pixels to play with.

Here is one for you to take a look at.

You just copy it to the root directory of the web server. (maybe the vbulletin template as well?)

Ray

New favicon.ico should start appearing overt the next few hours. Takes a fair while to filter through because of cache and other memorised stuff.

Looks like this 80470 only half the size. OK it really looks like this. 80469 as Ray said, not much to work with.

Cheers - Neil :U

Having trouble retaining the WWF skin its there when web browser opens :2tsup: but :no:not when I have signed in reverts to Neils Dark.

I have been into user CP and selected the WWF etc about 3 or 4 times now each time I return I have to change it again.

Any ideas would be great full

Ok have done everything including "Remember Me" even saved in "User CP".
The WWF style is there when I start up prior signing in but once signed in reverts to Neil's Dark.

I did notice when in the Friday Drivel last it retained in that room only

Wheelin, I have checked your User CP settings, it was saved as Neil's Dark and have reset it to wwf.

Were you saving the settings after you changed the choice to wwf? Anyway it should be set now to stay with wwf :2tsup:

Something for all to check if there's a problem holding a skin.

As you'll see below there are 3 registered and live forum names. Take note of the address you log in with and if the skin changes look at the address again, you may see a different forum name. This being the case pick the skin again and it should stay that way in both. You will never see the .com.au forum name unless you log in with it. The other 2 often interchange because this is the way they originally were and the way search engines view some of the older posts.

Below are the 3 live forums:

http://www.woodworkforums.com - This is the main forum address. Averaging around 17.5 million hits a month. This is the one we try to keep as the only one because it's searched by most of the search engines etc and .com is more widely recognised by all other types of info gathering and stats programs worldwide than .com.au which isn't recognised at all by many statistics keepers etc.

http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/ - This was our original address and strangely enough still gets between 9.5 & 11 million hits a month but these doesn't show on most statistic collectors

http://www.woodworkforums.com.au We have this for the patriotic Aussie bit and to stop anyone eles from registering it and playing off our name and rep. Averages few thousand hits a month. Do a Google Search for it and you'l be asked if you mean woodworkforums.com

Hope this might help clear up some of the problem.

Oh yeah some forums have their own particular colour eg Open Slather (the orange room) is as you would expect, orange. Cheers - Neil :U

OK; now we've identified at least two of the culprits (including me!). Thank Goodness for "Remember Me" to span the forums.
